Thompson's Resort Careers
Welcome to northern Saskatchewan, home to thousands of lakes, fresh air, clear water, and some of the best skies you’ll ever see. Thompson’s Resort, established in 1962, is in the Hamlet of Missinipe on the shores of Otter Lake on Treaty 6 Territory and is part of the historic Churchill River system.
Living in Missinipe is a privilege few get to experience. If you enjoy the outdoors, sunrises and sunsets, northern lights, and the beauty of the Boreal Forest, you’ll feel right at home up here. After a day on the water, spend your evening swapping fish stories around a campfire under the Milky Way.
Whether you’re new to the workforce or have years of experience, you’ll work with people from around the world and alongside locals. You’ll learn about the land, the history, and the people who have called this place home for generations. And before long, you’ll feel part of the community.

Seasonal Roles (May to October)
Guest Services Agent
As the first point of contact, your welcoming personality will set the tone for our guests. You will answer phones, emails, respond to questions, and make bookings. You will make sure guests feel comfortable and supported throughout their visit. If you are organized, computer savvy, enjoy hospitality and problem-solving, this is a great fit for you.

Food & Beverage Server
Are you old enough to serve alcohol? Our restaurant is a lively, welcoming space for guests, locals, and staff. You’ll take orders, serve meals, answer questions, handle cash, and provide friendly and professional service during busy breakfast, lunch, and dinner hours. This role suits someone who enjoys being on their feet in a fast-paced environment.

Cook
Are you skilled with knives, fire and heat? Do you find your attention to detail higher than most people and your desire to please off the charts? Our kitchen team works seamlessly to pump out local favorites from homemade pizza, freshly made burgers, homemade dessert and daily specials. If you take pride in your work and love the thrill of a busy kitchen, you’ll thrive here.

Dockhands
Do you enjoy working outdoors? This role is perfect for early risers who enjoy physical work outside in all kinds of weather. You’ll get the boats ready in the morning and put away at night, you will assist guides and guests, help fillet fish, and keep the dock area and boats clean and organized. Expect sunshine, lake views, and plenty of good conversations.

Maintenance
Do you have a keen eye and can spot potential problems before they become issues? Are you skilled with tools and mechanical equipment? Are you open to learning new skills and working with a team? Expect to be a proactive trouble shooter and interact directly with our guests to fix any maintenance issues that may have caused their experience to be less than great.

Store Clerks
Yes, we also operate a convenience store! You’ll help customers, handle cash, receive deliveries, keep things clean and organized. You will recommend tackle and bait, and stock shelves. This is a steady, guest-facing role with lots of variety.

Fishing Guides
Our guides are a big part of the Thompson’s Resort experience. You’ll spend your days on the water creating memories, sharing stories and your love of fishing. You know the lake and where the fish are, you know how to fillet both pike and walleye and you make a mean shore lunch. You are a natural host and people person.
